Extra Credit Opportunity

IF you are completely caught up with all of your semester work OR have consulted me regarding a plan to make up missing work, you have an opportunity to earn extra credit.
In honor of the upcoming Memorial Day, you may write "remember" my brother, who is serving with the US Marine Corps in Al Qaim, Iraq. You may write him a letter, draw him a picture, print out jokes or stories from the Internet, find an interesting article in the newspaper, or a combination of any of the above. What I am hoping to do is to send him a package full of fun/funny/interesting/inspiring things that will bring some happiness and excitement into his life. Be creative!
Letters may be written to: Lance Corporal Brandon Lefebvre
Extra credit will be assigned based on thought and effort put into your submission.
Submissions will be accepted through Friday, May 18th.

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the final Monday of May (observed this year on 2007-05-28). It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action. One of the longest standing traditions is the running of the Indianapolis 500, which has been held in conjunction with Memorial Day since 1911.
